Sapphire

Corundum in any color other than red. Kashmir sapphires (mined 1881–1938) command the highest auction premiums; cornflower blue Ceylon and royal blue Burmese are next. Heat treatment is the norm — unheated specimens command 30–50% premiums with lab certification.
